How cool was it back in the mid 90s playing Sega Rally with a few mates at the arcade parlour, drifting round corners so hard, most of the time you were looking out your side windows, with mud flying everywhere. No matter what age or gender, everyone loved this game. Now in 2007, Sega Rally is back, but things have changed. Colin Mcrae Rally is the top dog and realistic simulation is the name of the game. Sega Rally has six different environments, 16 tracks, good AI, two-player split screen, six-player online and an assortment of 4WD, 2WD and classic cars. A big feature is the “dynamic deformable surfaces”. As you drive, your tyres dig into the track and carve grooves through the mud. The longer the race continues, the deeper the grooves become, providing more grip, which really affects the race. With awesome graphics and leaning more towards fun rather than realistic gameplay, this is a good buy. If it had more tracks and a four-player split screen it would be fantastic. Rating: 7.5/10 |
