THIS SEQUEL to the top-selling and innovative original role-playing game set in the popular Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe is reminiscent of Baldur’s Gate and comes with the welcome inclusion of fully controllable party members that add more control and the ability to execute a much greater array of tactics in your battles. Character creation is vast and even more complex now, with choices between 16 races, 12 base classes and 17 unlockable prestige classes, plus lots of skills and feats. It took me 15 minutes to choose my class and attributes. Every action you make sets the moral direction of your quest to become the hero of Neverwinter, vying for the ring of evil or good. This game delivers the long, deeply immersive and satisfying role playing experience promised, but it is system-heavy, which can bog down gameplay on anything but high-end computers. There are at least 50 hours of entertainment to be enjoyed with your four-member party, so be prepared to have your nights consumed by this title. 9/10
