Free local phone calls under review

The question of whether free local phone calls are going to continue is to be part of a fundamental review of telecommunications services principles being sought by the government.

Communications and Information Technology Minister David Cunliffe says the local service Telecommunications Service Obligations (TSO) are regarded by the industry as “clumsy, time-consuming and an expensive tax on entrants”.
