Alert | My Router is a Lynksys WAG160N, with Wireless N and ADSL2+ Modem. My exchange (Remuera) is ADSL2+, My Telecom plan aloows for data to download as fast as my line allows. Why, then, is my connection speed only 1.6mbps? Shouldn't it be far higher?

Alert | But are you paying for ADSL 2?
Even if u have a DSL 2 modem and the exchange is DSL2 it doesnt mean you'll get it.
Unless you probably pay for it, or the ISP hasnt switched you over to get DSL 2 speed.
It may also depend on how far you are, from the local exchange

Alert | Well, does Telecom offer ADSL2+ Plans? All they seem to offer is 'The day to day speed of your broadband will vary depending on a number of factors.' What ISP's do offer ADSL2+ plans? Is there any word on Telecom releasing ADSL2+ plans?
Thanks! | | | |

Alert | Dont know, I'm not with Telecom, check their site.
I think Orcon have ADSL2, but as previously posted, I think it'll also depend how far you are from the exchange. The further youre away from it / one, the slower it'll probably be.
I'm with Xnet, and also have a ADSL2+ modem, and I'm definitely not getting DSL2 speeds. | | | |
